Running Late Promo

If you weren't at OSP Saturday night you missed alot of stuff! The Galactic G video was premiered (which was sick!) and TJ Gaskill dropped the promo for his video "Running Late". The promo is super good and has some banger kids in it check it out!

Bangers For Bucks Voting is Open

From the press release:

Atlanta, GA, December 1, 2009 – Voting for the Bangers for Bucks skate contest at Surf Expo starts today! Shops from across the country are vying for the final three slots for the retail shop contest, sponsored by Eastern Skateboard Supply and Vans.



The Selection Process


A total of ten teams representing skate retail shops will compete January 14-15 in Orlando. Three of these teams have been selected by Surf Expo based on industry recommendations and consistent support shown for the skate industry. Four other teams were selected by skate media representatives from FTK Magazine and Focus Magazine.



The final three slots are up to voters. These “Fan Favorite” shops will be chosen from shops who submitted a video to surfexpo.com. The three teams that receive the most votes will win an invitation to compete.

My Review of Cosmic Vomit

After seeing Bert's part from Cosmic Vomit, I knew I had to get a copy of the DVD. I've never been a fan of ordering stuff online. I talked to Ryan O'Connor from Rip-n-Dip and he promised that it would be to my house in two days, and 2 days later there it was at my door. The video came in a sealed envelope with Rip-n-Dip mailing tags on it. Inside the envelope there was of course the video, a couple RND stickers, and even a catalog for their product which was sick to find in there. The DVD case and actual DVD look professional not like alot of DVDs that you get from local videos.

I knew that Bert's part was crazy but I didn't expect much from the rest of the video not really knowing anyone else in the video. I figured that buying the video would be just to help out Grant Yansura but he totally proved me wrong. Every ones part was sick! I was super confused to see that Berts part wasn't last but actually first. Last part went to Andrew Considine who I have never heard of but his part was Crazy! Johan Stuckey never disappoints with his parts. Even Grant had a part that was really good and it was nice to see a filmer that actually goes out and stacks clips!

Grant did an amazing job with this video. Filming is great, the editing and effects were awesome. Its 100% worth the like 15 bucks I paid for it. Everyone should go onto the Rip-n-Dip site and get this video and pick up some shirts while your on there too! Check out this promo for the video and then go buy it!

Cosmic Vomit!

Cosmic Vomit just dropped with two premiere dates, neither of which I could make it to. I still have not seen the hole video. But Rip-n-Dip just posted up Bert Wooton's part, and just like the Cosmic Vomit promo I posted the other day it left me speechless...

Kass Plumber's random visit to my store

It was just a normal boring day at work today when New Blood Skate Shop rider Kass Plumber came into the store. He told me that he was leaving for Europe in November for a couple of contests that he quailfied for a while back. He now riding UK skateboard companyby the name of Jart. Which has a killer team!

Keep a look out for Kass I am sure we will be seeing alot more of him soon!

Gator Board Shop Video coming soon

Gator Board Shop just put this flyer on their myspace page not too long ago. The video has been the works for a bit and I am pretty sure I have some footage in it. The teams has some heavy hitters like Dane Vaughn and Sam Bianchini so its sure to be a killer video! And on top of that there is a $200 best trick and a bikini contest! There is no reason not to go!

Speaking of Dane Vaughn check out this sick clip of him I found on youtube. That frontside heel is crazy!

Dalton Dern gets second at Gatorade Free Flow vert conest

Its a slow day at work today and I was browsing the internet when I came across this picture of Dalton Dern at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour. I just wanted to congratulate him on getting second place and for being able to handplant on a huge vert ramp! That's nuts! Aaron Collier and CJ Dixon were also at the Free Flow tour for the skate park finals. I know they both made it to the final 12 but not sure what the placed overall. I will post results as soon as I find them.

Amaxon Skateboards

3 or 4 years ago I met this guy from MIA named Paul Hurtado at a Innes Demo at Mesh. He was there skating the Demo and was doing some of the weirdest/craziest tricks I have ever seen. I was there filming and he came up to me and introduced him self and was the nicest guy ever. Well I haven't seen Paul since that day that I can recall but he recently started his own company called Amaxon. They have great graphics and some some hard hitting team riders! Check out Amaxon's products and help support a south Florida company!

Labor Day Weekend Fun tage!

Cesar VS Josiah

Today was the game of skate between Josiah Gatlyn and Cesar Fernandez on The Berrics. It was an amazing game but at the end Josiah came out on top. Check out the game here. A big thank you to Cesar for sending love out to Orlando in this Pre-game interivew. And good job in the BOTB. I am sure we will be seeing more from Cesar soon!

Aaron Collier wins again

The Gatorade Free Flow Tour came to Mesh Skatepark this weekend. And once again Longwood Local Aaron Collier takes the win. Aaron will soon be flying to Salt Lake City to skate in to skate in the finals contest where if he wins he will be skating in the last stop of the dew tour against the pros!

Cesar Fernandez VS Guy Mariano

Today, The Berrics posted the game of S.K.A.T.E between Orlando local Cesar Fernandez and Lakai Pro Guy Mariano. This game is by far the best game to date! But Cesar pulls out the win and moves onto the next round of the Battle at the Berrics. Check out the video here.

Redbull Manny Mania contest update

Manny Mania presented by Redbull went down on August 1st in Miami. First place went to Mesh, Expedition, and Osiris rider Aaron Collier. Second place went to another Mesh rider who also skates for Rip-N-Dip and Organika who goes by the name of Bert Wooton. Bert also won the best trick at Manny Mania. MIA Skatepark and Rip-N-Dip rider Cody Lucas came out with third place. Congratulations to all of you guys and i will post up videos and pictures once some are put online.

Westside Skateshop demo at mesh July 25th

On July 25th the Westside Skateshop will be doing a demo at mesh skatepark featuring Mike Rosa, Jimmy Lannon, THE DANGO, Richie Zuzeck, 80’s Joe, John Clayton, RYAN NIX, and RYAN WILLIAMSON. Go check out because these don't come around alot but they always kill the park and have a good time when they do make it out.

BANGERANG! Premiere date announced

BANGERANG! FINAL TEASER


DW and crew are going all out with a cinema style video premiere in Ft. Lauderdale on Feb. 28th. Check this place out! Not only does it look like a great place to premiere a skate video, the venue is pretty important to the arts and history of South Florida.
Classy!

Don't worry though, there will be a sweaty, not-sure-if-you're-sitting-in-spit style skatepark premiere which may or may not include a sloppy, underage kegger here in the Orlando area sometime soon. It just wouldn't be right with out one of those.

Surf Expo this week...

Rip N Dip hits with another commercial. This one is for sure the best one yet. As if the ad in the new Focus wasn't enough to get you psyched. Be on the look out for a new website and more designs and good stuff to come from RND and the boys in '09.



Also the Mesh Skatepark video is dropping over Surf Expo weekend and it is called "Just Meshin' Around!" HAHA what a fun name! I will post a proper plug for it tomorrow with the flyer and all that jazz.
